Healing and strengthening of the chakras is a practice so diverse and abundant with ideas that knowing where to start, or even how to start can be incredibly overwhelming.
Meditations, energy healing, sound healing, shamanic healing, reiki, acupuncture, yoga, reflexology, acupressure, aromatherapy, and herbal healing are just a few of the modalities known to be effective for chakra healing.
There can be an even easier way to start, using ingredients you can find at your local grocery store or market.
You can use food and color to strengthen and heal certain chakras.
Located in within our guts, our third chakra, the solar plexus chakra can be the most responsive to healing and strengthening using dietary means.
This chakra, or energy center, is physically responsible for digestion and processing of ingested toxins, among other things. Emotionally and spiritually, this is our home base for our energetic center or place of balance. Our sense of self-esteem, personal power, self-worth, value, and ability to speak up with courage are all attributes that are made stronger by a healed and optimally functioning solar plexus chakra.
Symptoms of a solar plexus in need of healing include:
Frequent digestive issues
Unexplained bouts of nausea
Gas, indigestion, acid reflux
Feelings of worthlessness and low self-esteem
Feeling like a doormat or a pushover
Being fearful of saying what’s on your mind
Struggle with valuing yourself and your skills
. . . etc.
Healing the solar plexus chakra, or strengthening it after healing through other modalities, can be as easy as supplementing your diet with food that resonates with the solar plexus chakra.
When you ingest food or drink, it passes through your mouth and esophagus and eventually lands in your digestive system. Once there, food or drink stays for a while as it is broken down into usable vitamins, nutrients, and amino acids.
The food you eat stays in your solar plexus region longer than in any other area of the body. This is where it’s broken down and absorbed by the body.
When you eat foods that are an energetic match for the solar plexus chakra - you’re feeding this energetic center.
The solar plexus is a swirling center of energy, otherwise known as a chakra. It contains the combined energy making up the physical and spiritual parts of you that this chakra is responsible for governing (see above).
The solar plexus operates with energy. When you give the solar plexus energy that matches the energy it needs to maintain and operate in a state of health, that’s when you create a state of strength, healing, and balance.
Each chakra resonates with a different energetic signature - this signature matches a color on the light spectrum. Light is also energy.
To heal the chakras, you need to create an energetic match. The energy you’re bringing in needs to match the purest, most optimal state of the energy the chakra needs.
The solar plexus resonates with the energetic signature of yellow, often with hints of an orange.
To heal the solar plexus chakra with food, what you need to do is simple:
Ingest yellow and orange foods in their purest and most unadulterated state.
Raw and organic if possible. Smoothies, juicing, and eating more fresh fruits and vegetables in this color family are all options.
Solar plexus healing foods include things like:
Oranges, Clementines, Tangerines
Yellow and orange sweet peppers
Yellow and orange tomatoes
White and orange carrots
Yellow Summer Squash
As the digestive chakra, the solar plexus is highly responsive to healing and strengthening with like-energy foods.
